Biography

With the exception of one semester away at college I have lived in Southern Indiana all of my life.  Although I love where I live now, moving to the city has made me realize why the country life is so special.  I am a life member of St. Matthews Church in Mt. Vernon where I also attended grades first through eighth.  I cannot think of a time when I didn’t want to become a teacher; my love and ability for art has not always been as evident but it now is stronger more than ever.

Previous to teaching at St. Wendel I helped run a private art program for all ages in Newburgh.  I started my first semester by teaching a meager three classes each week.  Slowly, classes were added to my schedule and by the time the second summer came around I was running the program and had eighty students enrolled.  I was offered opportunities that would have taken me away from teaching but by the end of the two years I knew teaching was what I loved to do most. 

Fun Fact

Over the past twenty plus years my grandparents' farm has been come to be known as a local landmark.  I didn’t know it wasn’t standard growing up and painting grain bins as canister sets.
